Biography

Ms. Schatz joined the firm in 2021 and focuses her practice on traditional union-side labor law, representing unions in litigation in state and federal court, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, New York State Public Employment Relations Board, New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, and other federal and state administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Department of Human Rights. She regularly advises unions on organizing campaigns; handles collective bargaining negotiations, grievance hearings, mediations, and hundreds of disciplinary and contract arbitrations; and conducts training for shop stewards and union representatives on handling grievances and addressing employment practices. Ms. Schatz also advises unions on duty of fair representation issues, federal and state leave laws, and anti-discrimination matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Schatz spent her entire career representing public and private sector unions, their affiliated employee benefit funds, and their members, participants, and beneficiaries at boutique firms in Manhattan and Westchester.
